Samuel Kent Frangenberg

Samuel Kent Frangenberg, 82, of Jonesboro, passed away on October 18, 2023, at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born in Pocahontas, Arkansas, on June 3, 1941, to the late Peter and Modelle Frangenberg. Kent has been a resident of Jonesboro since 1973, after relocating from Pocahontas. He attended Forest Home Church of the Nazarene. Kent had a deep love for life's simple pleasures. He was an avid bowler and cherished his time spent fishing in the great outdoors. Above all, he valued family and enjoyed the company of his beloved grandchildren as well as his cat, Prissy, and dog, Lucky. Kent's professional life was dedicated to his work at Lincoln Manufacturing as a highly skilled tool and die maker. He had a profound love for machinery and was well known for his methodical approach to life and work.
In addition to his parents, Kent was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael Frangenberg and Eddie Frangenberg, and his sisters, Mary Ellen Gustin, Pat Nelson, Carol Messimer, and Frances Melton. Kent is survived by his wife of 56 years, Glenda Frangenberg, of the home. He is also survived by his son, Samuel Kent Jr. (Erin) Frangenberg of Jonesboro; brothers, Peter (Adele) Frangenberg of Virginia Beach, VA, Mark Frangenberg of Germantown, TN, and Frank (Donna) Frangenberg of Somerville, TN; sisters, Sandra Young of Searcy and Bernadette Mathis of Panama City, FL, as well as Margaret (Max) Connally of Bedford, Texas. Kent is remembered by his grandchildren, Cameron Frangenberg of Farmington, AR, Gavin Frangenberg, and Canon Frangenberg, both of Jonesboro.
A visitation to pay respects to Kent will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Emerson Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 2:00 PM at Emerson Funeral Home, officiated by Ken Stallings and Tony Miller. Kent will be laid to rest at Pine Hill Cemetery.
The active pallbearers for Kent's service will be Greg Slayton, Billy Slayton, J.J. Slayton, Tony Gazaway, Parrish Ergle, Andy Frangenberg, and Jonathan Frangenberg. Honorary pallbearers will be Kent's two bowling leagues, The Pin Spinners and the Business and Industrial.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you consider making donations to one of the following causes in Kent's honor: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Forest Home Church of the Nazarene building fund, or a charity of your choice.
Kent will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him, and his memory will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
