Samuel Klauser Obituary

Sam was a WWII Veteran, serving in the South Pacific Islands 1942-1945 and wounded twice in battle. He was a life member of the Oak Creek American Legion Post #434 and Windlake V.F.W. Post #8343. Sam was also a life member of the Cudahy Gun Club, Milwaukee Gun Club, Waukesha Gun Club, Lakeview Rod & Gun Club and ATA Amateur Trapshooting Association.
Sam and his wife were the owners & operators of the Hunter's Nest Bar & Lakeview Trap & Sport Club. Sam's Hobbies were hunting, fishing and trapshooting. In 1969, Sam and his wife Loreen won "Husband & Wife World Trapshooting Championship" in Vandalia, Ohio.
Sam is survived by his wife, Loreen L. Klauser, daughter, Sandy (Joseph) Higgs, granddaughter, Charleen Hendricks and many other nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Sam Klauser, sister, Lois (Richard) Legler and brother, James (Shirley) Klauser.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Friday, July 28, 2023, at Hartson Funeral Home, 11111 W. Janesville Road, Hales Corners, WI. Family and friends may gather for a visitation from 10:00 am - 12:45 pm at the funeral home. Military Honors will be accorded following the service at the funeral home.
Entombment will take place at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 29 at Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Oak Creek, Wisconsin.

My condolences to Loreen and family on Sam's passing. I met Sam some 35 years ago when I began launching out of his channel for duck hunting. Several times a year he'd either drive by and chat at the launch or I'd stop to say hello as he sat with his pup out in the parking lot. Occasionally, as he checked parking passes during the duck season, he'd leave a little something under my windshield wiper. One day it was a goose feather, another was a note which read "Your truck is dirty. It needs a wash. My dog did one tire.". Rest in peace Sam and thank you for your service to our United States of America. I'll miss seeing you in your chair across from the launch.

My deepest sympathy to Loreen and your family! It was a pleasure to get to know Sam through the last 15 years being your neighbor. Sam gave us so many moments of laughter along with some deep thoughts about life. His memory will live on when I use some of his hunting attire that he sold to me. I wish I would have had a chance to hunt with Sam because his passion for life was second to none. We are losing the Men and Women from The Great Generation and soon all we will have are stories and pictures. Rest in Peace Soldier!
