Samuel Lewis Long, age 67, of Taylorsville, Georgia passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia with Pastor Jimmy Reid officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm prior to the ceremony at the funeral home.
Born in Atlanta, GA, Mr. Long moved to Taylorsville, GA 15 years ago from Kennesaw, GA. He worked as a HVAC Technician, retiring from H & M Mechanical. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie B. Long and Fred Sutton Long, his parents, Ima Rudene Long and Frank Lewis Long, his siblings, Frank "Buck" Sutton Long, Carol Ann Lusk, and Richard "Ricky" Joseph Long, and an uncle, Paul Long.
Survivors include: 2 children, Samuel Blake (Kimberly) Long and Brandi Marie Long; 2 grandchildren, Alexus Grace Long and Adriane Wynette Mae Long; 2 siblings, Mary Yvonne Moore and Rhonda Jean Lamas; aunts and uncles, Max Long, Carolyn Biddy, and Fred Long; along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Samuel Long's memory for Gracie and Adriane's college fund. An account will be set up soon and will be published on this obituary page.
