Samuel G. Mogg, age 69 of Durand, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Hospice House of Shiawassee County. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Durand Chapel. Pastor Don White will officiate with burial to follow in Yerian Cemetery, Lennon. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8pm with a Masonic service @ 7:00pm.
Sam was born on October 7, 1953 to the late William and Nellie (Braley) Mogg. He attended Corunna High School graduating in 1972. The following year on May 19th, Sam married Cheryl Lyn Acord in Durand. Sam was a Mason with the East Lansing Masonic Lodge #480 and was a member of Light of Faith Church in Durand. He worked for General Motors in Grand Blanc for 23 years before retiring in 1995. In his spare time, Sam enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking. He was a jack of all trades and was always helping other people. He loved spending time with his family.
Sam is survived by his wife of 49 years, Cheryl; children: Jennifer (Jason) Nemitz, Jamie (Shane) Cornelius, Erick (Teri) Mogg; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; siblings: David (Anna) Mogg, William "Bill" Mogg, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Angel Mogg; siblings: Joan Mogg, Mary Wyon, Janice Freeman, George Mogg.

Oh Sam,
May you rest in Heaven and now free of pain. Although I haven´t seen you and Cheryl in many years, I have such wonderful memories of the years we lived across the street from you and Cheryl and the kids when they were small and all the fine times we shared.
