Mr. Samuel “Sam” Raymond Myers, age 68, a lifetime Millington resident, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan, surrounded by his loving family.

Sam was born on April 11, 1956, in Goodrich, Michigan, to Thomas Orville & Leona Myers (née Genicks). He was the second of four children and raised in Millington and attended Millington schools. Through friends, he met the former Shannon Woodhull. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on November 26, 1983. Together they shared over 40 years of marriage, countless memories, and raised their two children Raymond and Rosie. In his younger years, Sam worked on the Myers’ Family Farm, and in 1977 began working with General Motors before his retirement in 2006. Sam was an active member of the Otisville Masonic Lodge #401. Further, he enjoyed the outdoors and time spent fishing and deer hunting. He helped anyone in any way that he could and could fix almost anything. Above all, Sam loved his family and will be deeply missed.

He is forever loved by his wife, Shannon Myers; son, Raymond (fiancée Tory) Myers; daughter, Rosie (significant other Allan) Myers; mother, Leona Myers; siblings, Sharon (Charles) Deanzer, Sheryl French, and Scott (Melissa) Myers; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Sam was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Orville.

Sam’s family will welcome guests to Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington on Thursday, June 20, 2024, from 2-8 p.m. An Order of the Eastern Star memorial service will begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by Masonic memorial services. Funeral services for Sam will follow at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2024; additional visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Afterward, Sam will be laid to rest in Millington Township Cemetery.
