Arlene Edith (Spiekerman) Daenzer, 93, of Deltona, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on September 23, 2025. She was born on January 22, 1932, in Fairgrove Michigan, to the late John and Elsie (Haske) Spiekerman.
On July 20, 1951, Arlene married the love of her life, the late Ralph Daenzer. The couple made their home in Millington, MI. Together they raised eight children, and she dedicated her life to being a devoted, loving, and caring mother. For many years, Arlene worked at Schumaker’s Restaurant and Walt’s Bar. Following retirement, she and Ralph moved to Montana, and after his passing, Arlene settled in Florida where she could enjoy the warmth and sunshine.
Arlene’s greatest joy was her family, but she also found delight in life’s simple pleasures. She rarely missed her favorite soap operas and game shows, and she especially loved baking her famous cookies—most of all during the holidays, when she shared them generously with family and friends. She also enjoyed reading, playing bingo, and traveling with friends, creating cherished memories along the way.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Carrie Daenzer; children, Dan Daenzer, Debbie (Hank) Kern, Randy Daenzer, Lori (Hal) Sheets, Jim (Chris) Daenzer, Judy (Kevin) Callaway, and Tami (Daniel) Johnson; and her sisters, Bernie (Al) Mielens, RuthAnn (John) Kaijala, and Joyce Simpson. She is also survived by her many grandchildren: Crissy (Dennis) Dutcher, Brandy (Larry) Mangold, Ryan Matheson, Matt Daenzer, Jeremy (Bobbie) Kern, Becky (Andy) Smith, Hannah Sheets, Ely Sheets, Rose (Corie) Fetty, Lizabeth Sheets, Maricia Sheets, Deborah (Dillon) Thomas, Carl Daenzer, Cody Daenzer, Amber (Wes) Fawcett, Jennifer (Bill) Alexander, Melinda (Jordan) Johnson, Jessica Hunt, and Jennifer Hunt; along with many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Arlene will also be remembered by her nieces, nephews, and special friend, Rita (Randy) Slaymaker.
In addition to her parents and husband, Arlene was preceded in death by her son, Ron Daenzer; brother, Ken Spiekerman; and sister, Shirley Mielens.
A woman of warmth, resilience, and devotion, Arlene will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and friends.
