Samuel Oche Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carthage Chapel - Jacksonville on Mar. 12, 2026.
Samuel Iko Moses Oche was born on November 23, 2003, in Jacksonville, Florida, to his loving parents, Moses Anyeche Oche and Rachel Adah Oche. From an early age, Samuel was known for his gentle spirit, warm personality, and deep love for family. He was friendly and naturally peaceful, often described as someone who valued harmony and avoided conflict. Those who knew him best remember his kindness, humility, generosity, and compassionate heart toward others.

Samuel possessed a quiet strength and maturity that made him both responsible and dependable. He was a quick learner with a curious mind and a genuine interest in understanding people and helping wherever he could. His parents especially recall his generous spirit. Each Christmas, Samuel made it a point to purchase gifts for every member of the family, demonstrating a sacrificial love that reflected his thoughtful and caring nature.

Academically, Samuel was an exceptional student who consistently excelled in his studies. He maintained A-B Honor roll status throughout his academic journey and was recognized for his scholastic achievement as a member of the National Honor Society, the Beta Club, and the Spanish Honor Society.

Samuel began his high school education at First Coast Christian Academy and later graduated from The Episcopal School of Jacksonville in 2022. In addition to his academic pursuits, Samuel enjoyed athletics and participated as a member of the school's basketball team, and he also ran cross country during his junior year.

His faith was an important part of his life. In August 2013, at the age of 10, he surrendered his life to the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized later that same year. In recent months, Samuel had become increasingly devoted to studying Scripture, particularly the Book of Revelation, and often engaged in thoughtful discussions about the Bible with his mother. His growing spiritual awareness and commitment to prayer reflected a young man who desired to deepen his relationship with God.

Samuel continued his academic journey at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, where he was pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering. With a passion for learning and a bright future ahead, he was nearing the completion of his degree in 2026.

Samuel's life was marked by love, generosity, and a genuine care for others. His adventurous spirit, loyalty to family, and exuberant love for people left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Samuel was preceded in death by his paternal siblings Mrs.Titi Adikwu and Mr. Isah Oche and grandparents Mr. Anyeche Oche and Mrs. Iyawo Oche, as well as his maternal grandparents, Mr. Jesse Abu and Mrs. Ene Abu. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving parents, Moses and Rachel Oche; his devoted brothers, Joseph Oche and Joshua Oche; nine aunts, five uncles, and fifty cousins residing in Nigeria, Africa; and a host of friends, classmates, and church family members at The Potter's House International Ministries.

His legacy of faith, generosity, and love will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026, at The Potter's House International Ministries, 5119 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32205, and the interment will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2026, at Jacksonville National Cemetery
