Samuel Richards of North Concord, VT passed away on February 11, 2024 at the VA Hospital in White River Junction, Vermont after a brief illness. He was born on November 24,1941 to Samuel and Edith Richards and raised in Telluride, Colorado.
Samuel joined the Air Force in 1959 and retired in 1982. He was married to Ruth Mae Garfield for 58 years. They had two children, a son named Edson and a daughter named Tammy.
Samuel was predeceased by his son Edson, parents Samuel and Edith, father-in-law and mother-in-law Edson and Florence (Wilkins) Garfield, sister Edith Lorraine and her husband Al Crow, sister Delphia Jane and husband Robert Christensen, nephew Larry Christensen, sister Hazel, his wife Ruth and sister-in-law Margo (Garfield) Birchard.
Samuel is survived by his daughter Tammy, grandson Justin, great granddaughter Faith, nephews and niece Alan, Bobby, Carl, and Wanda Christensen, brother-in-law Robert Birchard, niece Lisa (Birchard) and her husband Michael Bowdish, nephew Lyle Birchard, along with several nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.
Samuel will be greatly missed. There will not be any calling hours or funeral per his wishes.
