Mr. Samuel “Sam” Robert Moore, 86, of Clemmons, NC, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023. Sam was born in Gaston County, NC on September 18, 1937, to the late Benjamin Fred Moore and Ollie White Moore. Sam graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a devoted member of Ardmore Baptist Church as long as his health permitted. Sam was employed with Krispy Kreme for 40 plus years where he held several positions including senior vice president of accounting and franchisee owner of multiple stores in western North Carolina. In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Moore. He is survived by his wife, Linda Chesson Moore; three children, Robert Moore (Sabrina) of Bradenton, FL, Karen High (Billy) of Winston-Salem, and Marianne Moore of Chesapeake, VA; six grandchildren, Baylor High, Chesson Sykes, Avery High, Mary Dasher High, Jarrett Moore, and Alexis Moore; two great-grandchildren, Pender Sykes and Birdie Sykes; one brother, Ben Moore (Betty) of Dallas, NC; and numerous other loving relatives. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Ardmore Baptist Church with Rev. Tyler Tankersley and Dr. Paul Mullen officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 12:45 – 1:45 pm prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the American Cancer Society supporting research for Leukemia, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741 or Dementia Society of America, P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the family of Mr. Moore.
