Samuel "Sammy" V. Langhans, born on March 22, 1971, in Columbus, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on February 17, 2025. He was a dedicated body technician known for his exceptional skills and affectionately nicknamed "Slammin Sammy." Over the course of 30 years, Sammy worked on and off at 3 C Body Shop and successfully managed an in-home side business that showcased his talent and passion for automobiles.
Sammy's personality was characterized by his warmth and humor. He was known to always have a joke ready, bringing smiles to the faces of those around him. Family and friends cherished his easy-going nature and huge heart; he was the kind of person who would give anyone the shirt off his back. His love for motorcycles, particularly Harleys, was well-known among his peers. In addition to his passion for bikes, he loved his truck, which played a significant role in his journey to sobriety. Sammy valued one-on-one time with his loved ones, creating memories that his family will hold dear forever, especially those involving motorcycles.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Langhans; daughters Harley Langhans, Mia Silva, Lynnsey Hale, Shannon Mattingly, and Elizabeth Suttles; sons Samuel Langhans, Jr. and Chase Hale; and grandchildren Bailey Rae Langhans, Lucian Richard Langhans, Orias Vincent Langhans, Taliyah Ringer, Brooklyn Stoops, Periyahn Askew, Blake Ropp, Bryden Ropp, and Kailyn Perez. Sammy also leaves behind his brothers Sean May, Teddy Craft, Tony Craft, and Joey Langhans.
Sammy was immensely proud of his family and his five years of sobriety, which were accomplishments that brought joy not only to him but to his loved ones as well. He was preceded in death by his mother, Vicki Langhans; father, Sam May; and brother, Dustin May.
A visitation will be held in his honor on March 5, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest located at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123, followed by a funeral service from 6:00 PM on the same day.
