Samuel V. Samuelian, age 96, of Medford Lakes, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 23, 2024. Predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Beatrice Virginia (Donabedian) Samuelian, he is survived by his three sons, Thomas, Alexander, and Samuel Jr., five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Sam was born in Pawtucket, RI, in 1928, to Vahram and Manushag (Vartanian) Samuelian.
He served in the Air Force from 1951 to 1953 and went on to a career in aviation, graduating from the Academy of Aeronautics at LaGuardia. After a 33-year career with the Federal Aviation Administration, he retired from the FAA Technical Center in Pomona in 1984. A gifted mechanic and carpenter, he was “Mr. Fix it” to three generations of family, friends and neighbors, and he enjoyed working on cars, home remodeling, and cabinetmaking. In recent years, he was a regular at the Medford Senior Center, where he enjoyed playing cards. He was a long-time member of Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, Providence, RI, and active in the Masonic fraternity and Shrine. A devoted family man, he was involved in MLAA little league, MYAA football, DeMolay, and other community activities.
VISITING HOURS are Monday, December 2nd from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, Providence, with a Funeral Service at 11 a.m., followed by burial with military honors at North Burial Ground, Providence.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sts. Vartanantz Church, 402 Broadway, Providence, RI 02909.
