Samuel R. Shellhorn, 73 of Lodi, Ohio passed away Friday, January 5, 2024 at Ohio's LifeCare Hospice in Wooster, following a lengthy illness.
He was born August 1, 1950 in Lodi to John and Opal (Sheldon) Shellhorn.
Sam grew up on the family farm in Homerville and graduated from Black River High School.
He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Sam had worked as a Produce Manager having been employed at Mack's Food Center and Locker, and later at Miller Brothers Grocery.
He was a 50-year member of Lodi American Legion Post #523, where he had held many positions over the years.
Sam was an avid Cleveland INDIANS fan. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren participating in their various activities.
He is survived by his wife Barbara, to whom he was married to for 17 years;
daughters, Stacie (Gary) Schafer of Wooster, Tracie (Robert) Willard of Wadsworth, and Kacie (Andrew) Stephens of Lodi; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a sister.
At Sam's request a private graveside service will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville.
If desired, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to Ohio's Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
