Samuel John Tafoya, born on November 10, 1946, in a world teeming with promise, departed this life on February 13, 2026. Known for his infectious laughter and warm heart, Samuel lived a life richly woven with family, friends, and passions that defined his character.
As a devoted husband to Patricia Tafoya, with whom he shared 36 beautiful years of marriage, Samuel cherished every moment spent with her, building a foundation of love and support that blossomed into a nurturing family. His boundless affection extended to his children: Linda Perez (Juan Perez), Christine Tafoya, Marina Saenz (Raul), Casey Betancur (Milagros), Michael Tafoya (Cassandra), and Samuel Tafoya Jr. (Gabriel). Each child carried a piece of his spirit, a legacy of love that will continue to thrive for generations to come.
Samuel was a proud brother to Max Tafoya, Simon Tafoya, Dolores Tafoya, Marina Tanner, and Frances Martinez, and he often spoke fondly of the bonds he shared with them throughout their lives. His affection extended to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as countless nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Samuel’s passions were as lively as his spirit. He found joy in gathering his family around barbecues, sharing delightful meals, and basking in the laughter and joy of family gatherings. A fervent Denver Broncos fan, he never missed a chance to cheer for his team. On quieter days, you could find him fishing or tending to his yard, immersed in the simple pleasures of life. His favorite saying, "It's never goodbye, it's see you later," encapsulated his belief in the enduring bonds between loved ones.
Though Samuel faced the profound loss of his parents, Simon and Theresa Tafoya, as well as his siblings Ralph Tafoya, Alex Tafoya, Tony Tafoya, and Virginia Garcia, their memories remained a guiding light in his life, influencing the loving man he became.
A memorial service to honor Samuel's life will take place on March 6, 2026, at 3:30 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home, West Metro in Denver, Colorado. Friends and family are invited to gather together to celebrate the remarkable journey of a man whose love continues to ripple through the lives of all who knew him.
In the heart of those he leaves behind, Samuel John Tafoya will always be remembered—not with tears of sorrow, but with smiles reflecting the richness of his life and the love he imparted.
