Samuel Larry "Larry" Toadvine, age 83, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025.
Born on March 18, 1942, to the late Otis B. and Mary B. Henson Toadvine, Larry grew up in Cincinnati and carried with him a love of God, family, creativity, and hard work throughout his life.
Larry was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord deeply. His faith was a guiding light in his life and gave him strength, especially in times of hardship and loss. He shared his faith through the way he lived-with kindness, love, and devotion to his family.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, Patrica Louise Toadvine. Their marriage was marked by deep devotion, and in the year and a half since her passing, Larry's love for her remained steadfast. He was also preceded in death by his sons Tony Toadvine and Steven Toadvine, his brother Otis Carl Toadvine, and his sisters Rosamond Ann Craighead and Betty Ellen Krechting.
He is survived by his sons Bryan Toadvine and Shawn (Molly Buckler) Toadvine. He was a loving grandfather to Anthony, Brandon, Sam, Noah, Abigail, Gabrielle, Tia, Tati, and Ellie; and a proud great-grandfather to Theo, Peytan, Kinleigh, Blakely, and Greyson.
Larry retired from Ford Motor Company. Outside of work, he was a tremendous artist, known for his gift of painting. He also loved watching his Cincinnati Reds play on TV, cheering them on season after season. His creativity, gentle spirit, and simple joys touched those who knew him, and his artwork will remain a lasting legacy of his passion and talent.
Above all, Larry cherished his family, his faith, and the time he spent with those he loved. His memory will be carried forward with love and gratitude by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Home, in Milford, on Wednesday, October 1st from 10 AM until time for funeral services beginning at 11 AM. The burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorial donation may be made in his name to the House of Refuge Church.
