Samuel Lee Wheeler Jr.

Samuel Lee Wheeler Jr. was born on August 30, 1950 in Sumter, South Carolina to Samuel Wheeler Sr. and Ethel Davis.

After Samuel and his family relocated to Newark, New Jersey, he received his formal education at Central High School. There he excelled in various sports such as baseball, football and basketball. He stayed active in sports most of his life.

After high school, Samuel worked at various places of employment such as Port Newark, General Motors, and lastly for the City of Irvington Sanitation Dept.

Samuel had one son, Altemise Scott, whom he co-parented with Patricia Scott McCoy. Through his son, Altemise, Samuel had four grandchildren: JaQuan, Tamia, Tyler and Temis, and three great grandchildren: Zolin, Queen and Mize. Samuel also had a stepdaughter, Selena, and a stepson, Darnell, from his ex-wife Gloria.

Samuel leaves behind a brother, Anthony Wheeler; a sister, Audrey Rodriguez; his nephews, Brandon Wheeler and Damion Powell; along with many other cherished family members.

Samuel was preceded in passing by his father, Samuel; his mother, Ethel; a brother, Clifford; his sister, Deborah Wheeler; and his aunts, Rosalie Davis, Jane Oxford and Dorothy Benjamin.
