Sandi Denton DeVore, 81, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away, July 16, 2025. She was born June 3, 1944, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Douglas 'Bill' Denton and Pauline Moore Denton.
She grew up in Fort Smith, graduated from Fort Smith High School in 1962, and received a degree in Speech Therapy from the University of Oklahoma in 1966. She worked at various schools over the years helping many young kids with special needs. Her most recent school was Sky Ranch Elementary in Moore, Oklahoma, which she retired from in 2003.
Some of her greatest memories included her fun times with friends during her high school years where she was Head Cheerleader and reigned as Miss Fort Smith in 1962. She loved her time at the family lake house on Lake Hamilton, and her many years of playing tennis with friends around Fort Smith.
Sandi loved the Lord above all, followed by her daughter, Stacey. One of her happiest days was attending Stacey's wedding last year and knowing she was happily married. Sandi will be remembered by her unwavering faith, wonderful sense of humor, and ability to stay positive and inspiring to those around her in-spite of her many health battles over the last 20-years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas 'Bill' Denton and Pauline Moore Denton; her brother, Charles 'Chuck' Denton; and her sister, Leanne Alexander. Sandi is survived by her daughter, Stacey DeVore Biebighauser and son-in-law, John Biebighauser of Grapevine, Texas; and her niece, Kindal Alexander Reynolds of Gentry, Arkansas.
Memorials may be made in memory of Sandi to Samaritan's Purse at www.samaritanspurse.org or your charity of choice.
