Sandra Annette (Henderson) Adams, lovingly known as Sandy, passed away peacefully Monday, September 22, 2025, in Daytona Beach, Florida, at the age of 79. A former resident of Holly Hill, she was born on April 13, 1946, in Florala, Alabama, to the late Willie Jay and Monnie Lee Henderson.
Sandy had dedicated much of her life to the hospitality industry, serving as the Banquet Manager at the Holiday Inn in Deland, Florida. Her passion for making things "just right" with a sparkle and shine extended from corporate events to lavish weddings-everything she touched was made just a little more perfect by giving extra attention to each and every detail with her special touch.
Known by many names-Ann, Sandy, Nan, Nanny, and Gigi-she was a woman who lived fully and gave selflessly. Her greatest joy came from caring for others, whether through her work, her church, or her family. She enjoyed attending church, spending quality time with friends and family, and especially spoiling her 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart, bringing her immense pride and joy making her the proudest grandmother.
Sandy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Alton "Simon" Adams. We take comfort in knowing they are now reunited and at peace in the loving arms of family. In addition to her husband and parents, Sandy was preceded in death by many loved ones who no doubt welcomed her with open arms.
Sandy is survived by her children: daughter Mira (Bill); sons Kevin (Jan), Jay (Debbie), Vicky, and Thomas (Niki); brother-in-law Robert; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless cherished friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Sandy's memory to: South Haven Christian Church 2430 Tomoka Farms Road Port Orange, FL 32128
A celebration of Sandy's life will be announced at a later date. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Sandra, please visit our floral store.
