In Loving Memory of Sandra Lee Adrian.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sandra, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, on March 9, 2025. She was 83 years old. Born on May 16, 1941 in Bath, New York. Sandra lived a life rich in love, learning, and music. She was a woman of remarkable faith. Sandra was a faithful prayer warrior and always had her prayer list by her side. She was a woman of remarkable intuition and intellect, always seeking knowledge and understanding. Her passion for reading was lifelong, with Gene Stratton-Porter's "Girl of the Limberlost" holding a special place in her heart, a cherished companion from her youth.
For 55 years, she was the devoted and loving wife of Merrill Adrian of Florida. Together, they built a life filled with shared dreams and enduring companionship. She was the proud and nurturing mother of two sons, Ralph Adrian and wife Sonya of Pennsylvania and Jeff Adrian and his partner Mike Ciannilli of Florida whom she cherished deeply. Her love extended to her two beautiful and kindhearted grandchildren Tinia Davis and Devan Adrian and her precious great-granddaughter, Leilani Cleveland who she knew but a short time but who brought her immense joy and laughter.
She was preceded in death by her mother Doris Lyke of New York, adopted parents Ralph and Rosalind Burke of Florida. Sister-in-law Betty Crow (William) of Texas, a brother-in-law Jack Adrian (Lena) of West Virginia, brother-in-law Harold Adrian of North Carolina.
Surviving is a sister Patricia Vaughn of Florida, sister-in-law Carolyn, wife of Harold Adrian of North Carolina, sister-in-law Nora Adrian Woodmansee (Frann) of North Carolina. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and many nieces and nephews.
Sandra's musical talent was a source of immense pleasure for herself and others. An accomplished pianist, she could bring melodies to life with grace and skill. A particularly memorable moment was when she received a standing ovation for her performance on a cruise ship, a testament to her talent and passion. Her beautiful voice also resonated with many as she sang with the Sweet Adelines, sharing her love of harmony and camaraderie. She would often play her best friend Nancy's favorite song "I'll be seeing you" to her while Nancy sang. Beyond her talents, Sandra was a beacon of warmth and wisdom. Her intuitive nature allowed her to connect with others on a deep level, offering comfort and understanding. She approached life with curiosity and a gentle spirit, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She loved the Magnolia which always bloomed for her birthday and so some of her ashes will be spread beneath a special Magnolia tree and the rest with her husband when he too is laid to rest.
Her melody may have faded, but her love will resonate forever.
