Lutsen Michael Adrian, 40, died at his home in
Shakopee, MN, on January 16, 2026. Lutsen was born on November 4, 1985, in High Wycombe, England, to Byron and Jann Adrian. He spent his first two years on the other side of the pond. He grew up in Burnsville, Minnesota with his younger sisters. He was a rambunctious and gregarious kid who loved the outdoors and seeking thrills. In his youth, he participated in recreational sports, playing baseball, football, and basketball. For six years, he sang with the Metropolitan Boys Choir, which took him on tours around the US and Europe. He also played percussion through high school.
Lutsen earned the highest rank of Eagle Scout, and spent many summers attending and working as a counselor at Many Point Scout Camp in northern Minnesota. He enjoyed many Scout-sponsored adventures; hiking Mt. Washington in New Hampshire, Philmont in New Mexico, and aquatic adventures at Sea Base in Florida. He was also awarded the Honor Medal from Boy Scouts of America, for saving a friend's life, in 2004.
Lutsen graduated from Burnsville High School in 2004 and attended the University of Wisconsin–River Falls. He liked to joke that he was "on the 10-year plan."
Throughout high school and college, he worked various jobs, including lifeguard and swimming instructor, landscaper, and lift operator at Buck Hill. He worked at Quality Bicycle Products for 15 years. He appreciated the friendships and connections he made at QBP, including volunteering for the Minnesota State High School Mountain Bike League from its inception.
Lutsen was a kid at heart. He appreciated building big fires and everything with wheels, especially if it was loud or fast. He loved animals and kids and was proud to be "Uncle Lutsen" to his friends' children. He relished outdoor activities with them, including ice skating, sledding, fishing, catch, and soccer. At gatherings, he preferred to sit at the kid table.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Elaine Schmoll and Dale and Hazel Adrian; uncles Jim Schmoll,Russell Adrian and Stephen Adrian; aunt Julie Stoning; aunt Sue Foster (godmother); cousin Amy Stoning; and beloved dog, Turkleton.
Lutsen "Bubba" is survived by his parents; sisters, Stirling, Siana (Kevin Perry), and Sierra (David Duncan); aunt Nancy Adrian; uncles Larry "Mike" Adrian and Gary Stoning; uncle Dave Foster (godfather); his cousins; numerous friends and their children.
While he would have said "eww, gross feelings" if he were reading this, he loved his friends and family fiercely. We love you, Lutsen.
