Sandra Sue Almendarez 68 of Bartlesville, Oklahoma left us peacefully on December 17, 2024 at the Journey Home. She was a beloved mother, grandma and friend to so many. Sandy or "Moose" will always be remembered for her love for her grandkids, her orneriness, and her forever open door.
Born on November 19, 1956 in Bartlesville, OK. Sandy grew up the baby of the family of 5 brothers and sisters. She grew up in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and graduated from College High School in Bartlesville Class of 1975.
On December 17, 1979 Sandy married her best friend Francisco "Pancho" Almendarez. The two shared a marriage that yielded two children and five grandchildren.
When she wasn't watching her St. Louis Cardinals or her Oklahoma Sooners on TV she spent most of her time traveling to watch all 5 of her grandkids whether it was softball, baseball, basketball or choir. She also enjoyed going to the casino and her scratch off tickets with Steven.
Sandy devoted her time at CARD Headstart for 15 years working alongside her lifelong friend Pam Smith where she worked as a cook. Sandy has always been known for the lady with the best brownies.
She is survived by her daughters Micaela Yales and husband David, Angela Almendarez, grandchildren Kelsie Yales, Addison Yales, Abigail Schreppel, Jase Yales and Amaya Chambers, brother Jimmie Moore as well as countless nieces and nephews that she loved as her own. Sandra is preceded in death by her parents John and Bessie Moore brothers John and Donald Moore sisters Judy Miller and Peggy Fraire.
Services will be held at Dewey Church of Christ 1313 N Osage Ave in Dewey, OK on January 11, 2025 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers please send a memorial donation to The Journey Home.
