Sandra Newton Arenas, 86, of Elon, NC passed away at AuthoraCare Hospice Home on Monday, May 26, 2025.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Jerry Davey, who survives and the late Cass Arenas and the daughter of Walter Alexious Newton, Jr. and Mabel Christine Shoffner Newton, both deceased. She retired from Western Electric as an Administrative Assistant. She enjoyed listening to beach music and shag dancing. Sandra loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Jerry, survivors include her son, Steve Adams and wife Teri; three granddaughters, Lesli Honeycutt and husband David, Lynsey Koury and husband Carson, and Lori Beth Adams; five great grandchildren, Whitaker Honeycutt, Adalin Honeycutt, Aldridge Honeycutt, Charlee Koury, and Tracer Koury; sister, Brenda Mahaley; and two stepchildren, Tim Davey and Dawn Davey. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Glenda Day, Judy Harris, and Patsy Slaughter.
The funeral service will be conducted at St. Lukes Community Church on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. by Rev. Jeff Chewning with the family receiving friends from 12:00 until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Lukes Community Church, 752 Greenwood Drive, Burlington, NC 27217 or AuthoraCare Collective Hospice, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
