Sandra Batey Obituary
Sandra Hazen Batey, 81, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away of natural causes February 19, 2025.
Sandy was born in Tifton, GA September 1,1943 to William Daniel and Geraldine Silcox Hazen, and was raised in Jacksonville, FL with her beloved sister, Cindy. Sandy graduated from Ribault High School where she met her husband of 53 years, John T. Batey, Jr. John and Sandy remained in Jacksonville and raised two children, Steve Batey and Lisa Batey Cogan.
Sandy is remembered by her loved ones as spirited, intelligent and creative. She enjoyed time with family and friends, gardening, art, the beach, and was an avid reader.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents Dan & Jerry Hazen and husband John Batey. She is survived by her children Steve Batey and Lisa Batey (Robert) Cogan, grandsons Hunter and Taylor Cogan, sister Cindy Hazen, niece Amber Foley, nephew JD Foley, great-niece Fallyn, great-nephew Jayce, Rick (Sarah) Foley, and friend Don Haddock.
Sandy will be laid to rest in a private ceremony.
