Sandra "Sandy" Joan Brown, 73, of Livonia, passed away after a brief illness on August 28, 2024.
Sandy was born on September 27, 1950, in Detroit to Eileen (Wirgau) and Edward Bruce Roedding. She graduated from Schoolcraft College and worked at Ford Motor Company as an executive assistant for 30 years before retiring. She lived happily and raised her two sons, Bradley "Brad" and Brian Brown, alongside her forever partner, Robert "Bob" Huber.
Sandy was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who enjoyed spending time with her family, completing jigsaw puzzles, collecting Hallmark ornaments, going to the casino, and attending her granddaughters' soccer games.
Sandy is survived by her forever partner of 38.5 years, Robert "Bob" Huber of Livonia; sons, Bradley "Brad" (Erin) Brown of White Lake and Brian (Tammy) Brown of Plymouth; granddaughters, Paige and Reagan; grandson, Hudson; and cat, Arthur. She is also survived by her sister, Marie (Louis "Butch") Marchetti of Dearborn Heights; twin sister, Susan "Susie" (Steven Range) Hill of Dearborn; brother, Gordon "Gordie" (Karen) Roedding of Canton; numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Arthur Jankowski.
Sandy was a one-of-a-kind woman who was fiercely independent and had a fiesty streak a mile wide. She loved her family, was extremely devoted to her grandchildren, and took on the role of "mom" to so many. It was common to find an extra neighborhood kid or two at the kitchen table, especially when she made spaghetti. Her love for animals ensured that there was always a kitty or two in her home. Her signature voice captivated a room, and her hugs made people light up. Sandy will be greatly missed.
Her family is honoring her wishes for no funeral or service. In her memory, complete a Ravensburger jigsaw puzzle with loved ones, eat a slice of cheesecake, take a spin at video poker, watch a Tigers game, and spend time with cherished family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Michigan Animal Rescue League or Michigan Humane Society.
