Sandra L. Caple

Sandra "Sandy" Lorraine (Hampt) Caple (née Myers) of Upperco, MD, returned home to Jesus at the age of 71 on January 6, 2026 at Kline Hospice House in Mt. Airy, MD.
Born January 31, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Charles "Chuck" and E. Corina (née Blanchard) Myers.
She lived a full life of many stages and identities, including: being a twin, a fun-loving child, married to her childhood sweetheart, mother of three sons, professional cosmetologist, divorcee, long-haul trucker, biker chick, newlywed, caregiver to her husband, widow, churchgoer, loving Nana, caregiver to her late mother, kin keeper, and cancer fighter. Sandy would light up a room with her smile, laugh, and energy, causing everyone to feel welcome. One of her fondest memories was a trip to Greece, of which she often reminisced.
Sandy was a devoted member of Emory United Methodist Church in Upperco. She read her Bible daily, went to church every Sunday, and cooked there on Wednesdays. She was a die-hard fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Baltimore Orioles, and NASCAR. She loved dirt track racing, gardening, meeting up with her high school friends for lunch, watching sports and courthouse shows, and spending time with family.
Sandy was predeceased by her husband, Roger Caple. She is survived by her brother, Douglas Myers; her sons, Justin (Elise), Joshua, and Damon (Sara); her ex-husband, Dave Hampt; and her four grandchildren, Sophia, Tyler, David, and Evan.
The family welcomes guests for a visitation held Monday, January 12, 2026, from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at Emory United Methodist Church, 1600 Emory Rd, Upperco, MD 21155. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm at the church, with Pastor Jerry Gautcher officiating. Interment will be in Emory United Methodist Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Frederick Health Hospice.
