Sandra Marie (Maloney) Carter, 59, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Roger H. Carter, with whom she would have shared 30 wonderful years of marriage with on September 30th of this year.
She was born in Newton on November 13, 1965 and was a daughter of the late Nancy (Sullivan) and Wallace Maloney. Sandra was raised and educated in Newton and received her associates degree in business. She worked for Lotus Development/IBM for many years, where she met her husband. She and Roger owned and operated a pet store in the late 90’s. She was a stay at home mom with her children for many years and later told her family that those six years were the best of her life. She eventually went back to work for the local school systems. She worked for Westford Public Schools for many years as a secretary and then became a Data Specialist for the Acton-Boxborough Regional School District.
Sandras greatest joy and top priority were always her children and her family. She was a wonderful mother, who dedicated her life to her children.
She loved birds, all wildlife, her cats and rats, as well as simply being outdoors. She loved hiking the mountains of New Hampshire and Maine and enjoyed long days at the beach. You could often find her antiquing.
In addition to her husband, Roger, Sandra is survived by her two children, Roger (Ben) and Lillian Carter; her brother, Michael Maloney and his wife, Lynette of Norton; her two sisters, Michelle Tagarellis and her husband, George of North Andover and Pamela Lyne and her husband, Gerald of Maine; as well as many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to Sandra’s Celebration of Life on Monday, September 22, 2025 from 11AM until 12:30PM at the WESTFORD HEALY FUNERAL HOME, 57 N Main Street, Westford. Committal prayers to follow at 12:45PM in Pine Grove Cemetery, Westford.
The nightly ceremony in Washington, D.C. will be dedicated in honor of your loved one on the day of your choosing.
