Sandra Snellings Chavous, 80, of Hephzibah,Ga, passed away on September 12, 2025 in Augusta, Ga.
Sandy was born in Augusta, Ga to Joseph & Marie Snellings on September 6, 1945. She was raised in Langley, SC and moved to Georgia when she was 18.
She worked as a waitress for Waffle House for 46 years. Yes, she worked until August 24, 2025 and she could work circles around some of the 20 year olds there. Everyone loved Ms. Sandy at the Waffle House.
Sandy is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence W. Chavous, Sr; sons, Joseph Tomes, Brad Tomes; parents, Joseph and Marie Snellings; brother, Joseph Snellings Jr, and sister, Fay Geldart.
Sandy is survived by her daughter, Sheila Gaddy; sons, Bruce Tomes, Lawrence W. Chavous, Jr; sister, Judy Allman; brother, Ron Snellings, 6 grandchildren, two of which she was raising - Chloe and Conner (Bear), and 6 great-grandchildren.
A special Thanks to all of the customers who showed so much love and support in the last 3 weeks for our Sandy.
Memorial services will be held 6:00 pm Monday September 22, 2025 at Pine View Baptist church 119 Pleasant Home Rd Augusta, Ga with Forrest Garner officiating.
