Sandra L. (Humphrey) Clawson

Sandra (Humphrey) Clawson is predeceased by her daughter, DeAnna Christine Clawson and her Mother, Gertrude Nystrom. 

Sandra “Sandi” is survived by her daughter, Gina Rose Clawson, her partner, Vincent Purvee, her two sisters, Christine (Bill) Testa, and Donna (John) Tumminelli, as well as her beloved dog, Ozzie. Sandi is also survived by her aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

The family will receive friends 12 noon-3 pm Saturday, December 7, 2024, at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 6 Empire Blvd. (next to Donut's Delight). A memorial service will follow visitation at 3 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment is private.

                                                                                    Remembering Sandi  

Sandi was born in Yonkers, NY and raised in Peekskill, NY. She was a 1982 graduate of Peekskill High School. She attended the Cosmetology Program at BOCES earning her professional license. In 1985, she relocated to Rochester, NY. After getting married and having two children, Sandi served as the Executive Director for Embracing Options, a non-profit crisis pregnancy center in Rochester, NY for six years. 

Sandi prioritized family, friends, and keeping a warm, inviting home. Her circle of loved ones often requested her famous blueberry and apple bundt cakes for special occasions. She loved hosting backyard clam bakes, birthday parties, holiday parties, dinner parties and football Sundays. She played gin rummy and Skip-Bo with prowess. When people visited her home, Sandi made sure their favorite snacks were ready for them on the dining room table. Everyone who knew Sandi adored her and will miss her welcoming spirit.

Individuals and organizations can contribute to the NIAAA Gift Fund by sending a check or money order payable to "The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism” with a letter stating that the money is to be used for research at the NIAAA. Donations and letters should be addressed to:
