Sandra Coffin Obituary

POLAND – Sandra E. Coffin, 79, of the West Canada Creek Village, died on October 8, 2022 at Valley Health Services, Herkimer.
Mrs. Coffin was born on February 6, 1943 in Schenectady, a daughter of the late Chester and Florence (Mathews) Blanchard. She received her education from Richfield Springs and Van Hornesville Schools. She was united in marriage with Edward L. Coffin, her companion of over 46 years. Sandy was last employed at the former Country Manor, an assisted living facility she held various positions at over her 26 years there. She was once active in the Poland Fire Department and Auxiliary, and served as treasurer for 14 years. She was also a member of the Adirondack Unit #1118 American Legion Auxiliary. Sandra enjoyed camping and gardening.
Survivors besides her husband Ed, include four children, Lori Muthig of Herkimer, Michael (Melissa) Harvey of the Town of Ohio, Patrick (Dorothy) Harvey of Remsen, and Edward Jr. (Katie) Coffin of Lexington, SC; two step-children, Kirk (Tina) Coffin of Dolgeville, and Jason (Gail) Coffin of Newport; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Sandra was predeceased by a son, Daniel Harvey; and five siblings, Harold and James Walrath, Phyllis Collins, Winnie VanNatten, and Emma Jean Allen.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Thomas and Charlotte Shumway, and Sandy's niece, Bonnie Roark and her husband Bill for their passionate Care.
A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, October 30, starting at 12:00 p.m. at the Adirondack Post #1118 American Legion, 529 Main Street, Cold Brook, NY 13324. There will be no public calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Autenrith Funeral Home, Newport.
