Sandra Condry Clark Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stevens Mortuary - Knoxville on Oct. 22, 2025.

Sandra Sue "Sandy" Condry Clark, age 79, passed away at her home on October 20, 2025, in the presence of her husband. She was born on December 10, 1945, to Truman Hazel Condry and Trula Mae Woods Condry, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by her youngest son, Dennis "Denny" Brady, and beloved long-time friend Carolyn Grantham.
Sandy is survived by her husband of fifty years, Harry "Ed" Clark; her son Donnie "Don" Brady and his wife Ann; her sister Edith Buckner (Buck); stepchildren Lisa Henderson and Cameron Clark (Missy); grandchildren Lauren and Logan Brady; and beloved long-time friend Sue Davis.
Raised in the John Sevier community of East Knox County, Sandy was the daughter of a Southern Railway Company employee and a homemaker. She married Ed Clark on September 26, 1975, and together they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 26, 2025.
Over the years, Sandy held several occupations, most notably as a garment inspector with Levi Strauss & Co. at the Cherry Street and Powell plants. She was the principal breadwinner while her husband completed his engineering degree at the University of Tennessee. Afterward, they lived away from Knoxville for about 35 years before returning about ten years ago to retire near family and their mountain roots.
Sandy was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease approximately three and a half years ago. She faced her illness with dignity and resolve. A deeply spiritual person, she studied and reflected on many faith traditions throughout her life and attended services at various churches. She valued tolerance and was guided by faith in a higher power, always maintaining a clear boundary between religion and politics.
The family extends special thanks to Dr. Monica Crane and N.P. Sarah White of the Genesis Neuroscience Clinic, and to Dr. Rodney Sturgeon of Halls Family Physicians for their compassion, care and support throughout her illness.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Healthwell Foundation, an organization that provides life-saving prescription drug support to underinsured families.
Services are being conducted at Stevens Mortuary. Family and friends will be received between 4 and 5 PM on Sunday, October 26 to be followed between 5 and 6 PM by a eulogy and celebration of life conducted by her husband. Afterwards, Sandy will be cremated and privately interred at Roseberry Church Cemetery close to her parents and next to her son Denny.
Stevens Mortuary, 1304 Oglewood Avenue at N. Broadway is serving the family of Mrs. Clark.
