Sandra Corbett Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors - East Chapel on Aug. 4, 2025.
Sandra Kay (Huff) Corbett, commonly known as Sandy, age 74, of McDonough, Georgia passed away on August 1, 2025, at her home. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia on December 13, 1950, the oldest of seven children to the late Robert Franklin Huff and Mildred Carol Deese Ramsey. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Byron Keith Corbett; and siblings, Darryl Gene Huff, James "Jimmy" Robert Huff, and Patti Ann Craft.

Born with a heart for others and hands always busy helping, Sandy spent many years working as a medical assistant, but truth be told, caring for people was just who she was, not just a job, but her calling. She was a natural caretaker, always showing up with a kind word, a helping hand, and that signature sunshine smile. Her family and friends often said she was "walking sunshine," and to know her was to be loved deeply.

Sandy had a special place in her heart for the simple joys of life, like pulling weeds in her yard, raking up the leaves before anyone else noticed they'd fallen, or watching the birds, especially cardinals, in the beauty of nature. She and her late husband, Keith, made wonderful memories together at their little slice of paradise in Flagler Beach, Florida. Sandy loved the salty breeze, the sound of the waves, and early morning walks by the shore.

She and Keith also shared a passion for classic cars and were active members of a local car club. That community meant the world to her. She cherished those friendships and the joy of cruising with people who felt like family.

She adored Elvis Presley and could sing along with every word, usually with a smile and a sway. But nothing, not even Elvis or the ocean breeze, brought her more joy than her family. Her daughters, Tracy and Stacy, were her pride and her heart, and being their mama was her greatest honor. Her grandchildren lit up her world, especially her granddaughter Reilly, the apple of her eye. To them, she wasn't just Sandy, she was Grandy, a playful, loving name that became what everyone new and old would call her.

Sandy was a woman of strong faith, and her love for God was evident in the way she lived and loved others. She gave hugs that healed, advice that comforted, and laughter that stayed with you long after you left.

She was loved beyond measure and leaves her daughters, Tracy Michele (Sean) Dixon and Stacy Dawn (Al) McAllister; grandchildren, Reilly Dixon, Christopher Dixon, Douglas (Tiffany) Dixon, Kenneth (Nicole) McAllister; great-grandchildren by love, Gage, Cami, Ellie, and Hugh; siblings, Dianne (Timbo) Davis, Melissa (Dinker) Davis, and William (Suzanne) Teal; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Sandy was blessed to be surrounded by amazing neighbors and friends who will also miss her presence.

A service to honor Grandy's life will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM in the East Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Those who wish may sign the online guest registry at www.cannonclevelandfunerals.com. Sandra, my cousin, first playmate
spending alot of time together as neighbors with your home right behind mine on that unique hill
where we didn't have to cross the street just out the backdoor to play and have fun with our siblings too. Our grandparents, your parents my mom always there for us. I remember picking pears off the tree in your yard and eating figs off the bushes in my yard, enjoying ice cream cones from the Georgia Milk where Mamaw worked and close enough that we could walk there! A very happy time!
We did'nt see each other much as Adults but when we did, I enjoyed our visits. You were like a ray sunshine with your radiant smile!
Rest in peace my sweet cousin!
Love forever!
Kandy

siblings too.

My entire life I adored you Sandra. You were always so loving and so precious. In my eyes you were perfection. Not because you expected that but quite the opposite. You were always perfectly kind and humble. Taking care of everything and everyone around you. Your "ducks always in a row" I love how things tickled you or even riled you up. You my darlin' were and are one of a kind. You were the best biggest sister. For as long as I can remember you always spoiled me and reminded me how loved and precious I am. I know where you are and I will see you again. Kiss everyone there for me. I love you. "Lilly"
