Peter Corbett

Peter Hand Corbett, 91, passed away from natural causes on January 5, 2026, in Palm City, Florida.

Born on October 8, 1934, in New Haven, Connecticut, Peter graduated from Darien High School and completed a postgraduate year at Mt. Hermon Prep School before attending Trinity College in Hartford. He later attended Officer Candidate School for the U.S. Navy in Newport, Rhode Island, beginning his service as a naval officer.

Peter served honorably in the United States Navy, embodying the same steadfastness that defined his life. A passionate sailor, he spent countless hours aboard his beloved boat, Mon Ami, sailing out of Norton Yacht Club. He also had a deep love for travel and explored the world with his wife Sherry and close friends.

Football remained a lifelong passion. Peter played college football and coached junior football in Darien during his children's early years. His enthusiasm and support left a lasting impression on players and fellow coaches alike.

Peter is remembered for his warmth and dependability. His friendly nature and twinkle in his eye brought joy to those around him.

He is survived by his daughter Mimi Biddle and her husband, Dave Biddle, daughters-in-law Caren Corbett and Jennifer Corbett; grandchildren Mac, Peter, Reilly, Bridget, Jim, Leah, and Jack; great-grandchildren Louise, Vivian, Peter, and Lucy; ex-wife Sherry Corbett; and stepsons Austin, David, and Andrew Drukker.

He was predeceased by his sons Jeffrey Corbett and Peter Corbett.

"Pop" will be remembered with joy and laughter by those whose lives he touched. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
