Michael Francis Cusack

1946 - 2026

Michael Francis Cusack passed away on January 8, 2026, at the age of 79. Born to John and Catherine Cusack in White Plains, New York on June 12, 1946. Mike was one of six children. He graduated from Darien High School and went on to attend University of Dayton where he received a degree in education. Mike later went on to attend University of Michigan for postgraduate business studies. He worked as a project manager for several different construction companies, with his last being SIKA Corporation. Through a tennis club membership, he reconnected with a kindred spirit named Nancy Capocchi. The two hit it off and were married on September 25, 1993.

Mike loved the outdoors. He loved playing golf, tennis, biking and hiking. He was an avid San Francisco 49ers, San Francisco Giants, and PGA Tour fan. Mike was also a devoted Catholic and a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Often, he could be found assisting Fr. Ron Serban with decorating the church for all seasons. He also coordinated all the lectors for the liturgical readings.

He helped run the St. Vincent de Paul program feeding those in need in local neighborhoods and gave to many charities including Marin Humane and Catholic Charities. If anyone ever needed help, Mike was there to answer their call. Mike was a great family man and a loving husband. He was kind-hearted, humorous and gentle. He loved animals.

Mike is survived by his wife, Nancy Cusack, siblings Don Cusack, Mary Ellen Cusack and Larry Cusack, stepdaughters Paula Capocchi and Andrea Reese (John), stepdaughter-in-law Laura Metune, and step grandson, Orion Capocchi. He is preceded in passing by his siblings Andy and Patty, and stepson, David Capocchi.

All are welcome to attend a funeral Mass for Mike at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Holy Spirit Catholic Church, St. Vincent De Paul, or Marin Humane.
