Thomas Grey Hand

Thomas Grey Hand, commonly known as Tom, age 75, of Williamson, Georgia, went home to be with the lord on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, under the care of Brightmoor Hospice. He was born on December 5, 1950, in Riverdale, Georgia, to the late Wilfred "Mack" McKenzie Hand and Grace Hill Hand.

Tom honorably served his country in the United States Navy, a chapter of his life that reflected his quiet strength and sense of duty. Following his military service, he began his career as a Millwright with the local union.

Tom was a devoted husband, a proud dad, and the very best Pawpaw. Of all the titles he carried in his life, those were the ones he wore most faithfully. His family was his heartbeat, and his grandchildren were his greatest joy. He loved showing up for them, whether it was baseball, football, band, soccer, or cheer. It didn't matter the sport or activity; if his grandkids were there, he longed to be there too. He simply loved to see them.

Tom found his happiness outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing, tending to his garden, whether it was rows of crops or carefully planted flowers, and collecting antiques and southern pottery that told stories of days gone by. He didn't care much for being stuck inside; he belonged under an open sky, with dirt on his hands or sand beneath his feet in Mexico Beach.

Tom was gentle, kind, generous, and endlessly helpful. If he could do something for you, he would. No hesitation. No fanfare. Just quiet faithfulness and steady love. Living it out through example, he loved the Lord. He spoke openly near the end of his life about his faith and was confident in where he was going. We take comfort knowing that he has gone to see Jesus. He is whole, healed, and at peace.

He will be missed beyond measure, but his legacy lives on in the family he loved so fiercely including his wife, Blinda Hand; children, Stacy Hand, Kelly Hand (Anthony) Mithcell, Mack Hand, Sara Hand (Joey) Barron, Michelle (Kevin) Deleshaw, and Mandy (Jonathan) Mayfield; grandchildren, Matthew, Caleb (Calissa), Austin (Abbie), Easton, Briana, Michael, Payton, Haley, Carter, Jacob (Kaitlyn), Ethan, Jagger, and Jennings; great-grandchildren, Oakley and Eleanor; siblings, Tony (Brenda) Hand and Peggy Minter (Patrick) McLaughlin; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Mack Hand; mother, Grace Hand Minter; and a brother, Kenny Hand.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation to honor Tom's life on Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors.
