Jacqueline “Jackie” "Weigel" Hand

Jacqueline "Jackie" E. (Weigel) Hand, age 85, of Erie, died Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer spanning more than 20 years.

Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, on June 11, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Elizabeth Weigel. Jackie spent her life in the Erie area, residing in Erie, Harborcreek, and Millcreek graduating from Academy High School in 1958, and enjoyed spending her winters at her Florida home with her late husband, Charles "Chuck" Hand.

She was employed by Lord Corporation, where she worked in Customer Service. Jackie was known for her love of card games and cherished the many hours spent playing with friends-both during the day with her fellow "Lord girls" and in the evenings with her beloved "card girls." They often played until midnight, laughing, talking, and creating lasting memories around the table. Jackie loved shopping, making soup for her grandkids and staying up late watching her movies.

Jackie is survived by her son, Jeff Reigel, and his companion, Lynn Ross; her daughters Kim Eliason and her husband, Dan; and Becky Russell and her husband, Donny, all of Erie. She is also survived by her four stepchildren: Chuck Hand of Florida, Steven Hand and his wife, Lisa, of Northeast; Daniel Hand and his wife, Amanda, of Virginia; and Kenneth Hand of Pittsburgh.

Additional survivors include her grandchildren, Brianna Eliason (John Follador), Ben Eliason (Olivia MacArthur), Angela Russell, Ricky Russell, and Adrianna Donahue; step-grandchildren; step great-grandchildren; three nieces; and her brother, Dennis Weigel, and his wife, Jackie, of Charlotte, North Carolina. Jackie also leaves behind her best friend of many years, Lynda Nichols Berg.

In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by the father of her children, John Reigel; her former husband, Bob Shushok; her late husband, Charles "Chuck" Hand, with whom she shared her stepchildren; her brother-in-law, Richard Hand; and her sister-in-law, Vonnie Hall.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to her Oncologist, Dr. David Seastone, the Sam's Club Pharmacy staff, and to all the nurses and staff at the UPMC Cancer Center of Erie for their compassionate care.

Friends are invited to call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard, on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, in honor of her courageous battle with breast cancer.
