Sandra Marlene Cozad

Sandra Marlene (Adams) Cozad, died peacefully on August 12, 2022. She was born October 4, 1936 to Paul and Sylvey (Vanatta) Adams in Iowa. She is survived by her four children, Terrance (Patty) Earll, Jeania Cozad, Dean (Diane) Cozad and Randy (Lynn) Cozad. Nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren survive Sandra.
Sandra was a 1954 graduate of Des Moines Technical High School. Following high school she worked in the banking industry before starting her career with Thermogas in Des Moines, IA. She transferred to Tulsa, OK in 1986 when the Des Moines office closed; until her retirement and moved back to Des Moines in 2006 to be closer to her family.
She loved flowers and would spend hours tending to her flowers. Another passion she had was decorating for the holidays. Sandra also played duplicate bridge and was a member of the Bridge House in Urbandale, IA.
Besides her children and grandchildren Sandra is survived by her sister Verla Woods and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Viewings will be held at Brooks Funeral Care (7975 University Blvd) from 9:00-10:30am on Tuesday, August 16. The funeral will be held at 10:30am. Sandra will be laid to rest in Ellston Cemetery in Union Township, IA after the funeral service. To honor Sandra s memory, please make memorial contributions to the Rooftop Foundation.
