Sandra, or Sandi as she preferred, Sue Crandall, 69, of Fontana, California, passed away on September 8, 2025, in Upland, California, at San Antonio Hospital, due to a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born in Covina, to Clarence Cutler and Lola Cutler (Medberry), but grew up in Cypress, California, attending Kennedy High School, and then Cypress College. She earned her BA in Liberal Arts at Long Beach State, and went on to get her teaching credential. She and her husband, William Crandall, lived in various parts of Orange County for a period of time before settling in the Inland Empire.

She taught at El Camino Elementary in Ontario, California, for well over three decades, in several different grade levels, but primarily the first grade. Teaching was her calling and her passion, and she understood that you had to bring joy to the lesson plan in order for learning to really blossom. That is why it was so important to her to make sure the students had fun with the projects, such as fashioning paper hats while they were reading ‘Caps for Sale’, or making kiln-fired pumpkins for Halloween. The interactive nature of these projects would help reinforce whatever subject the kids were learning.

She loved puzzles, Harry Potter and hosting parties. She had a penchant for games, especially word games, where she could be quite competitive. She loved having people around, even as a self-described wallflower. She never shied away from helping people, and never asked for any recognition for doing so. To her, this simple obituary would probably be too much recognition.

She is survived by her two sons, Wes and Scott, as well as her two sisters, Resa and Erica, her brother-in-law Phil, and several nieces and nephews. She will be interred with her husband at Riverside National Cemetery.
