Sandra L. "Sandy" (Brentnall) Cummiskey, 76, of New Britain, wife of the late John Mark Cummiskey, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday (December 30, 2025) at Hartford Hospital. Born in Winsted, daughter of the late Oscar Brentnall and her mother Beverly (Davis) Brentnall of Winsted, she lived in New Britain since 1974. Sandy was a graduate of the Gilbert School in Winsted, class of 1967, worked at Cigna in Bloomfield and later was the secretary at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and School in New Britain for over twenty years. She was an active member of the Plainville Senior Center.

Besides her mother, she is survived by a son, Michael Cummiskey and his wife Emily of New Britain; a brother, William "Billy" Brentnall and his wife Cheryl of Prineville, OR; two sisters, Donna Albrecht and her husband Robert of Plainville and Bettyann Zaccara and her husband Donald of Winsted; two granddaughters, Isabel and Isla; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are Wednesday (January 7, 2026) 1 PM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are Wednesday (January 7) 11 AM to 1 PM prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Plainville Senior Center 200 East Street, Plainville, CT 06062 or to the New Britain Police Athletic League 544 Osgood Avenue, New Britain, CT 06053.
