Sandra M. Edwins

Belvedere, SC – Memorial Services for Ms. Sandra M. Edwins, 71, who entered into rest January 12, 2025, will be conducted Thursday afternoon, January 16, 2025, at 2 o'clock in the Posey Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Meyer officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 1 until 2 o'clock. A private interment will be held at a later date.
Sandra was born September 13, 1953, to the late Joe O. Edwins and Beatrice J. Edwins. She was a lifelong resident of Belvedere, SC, and graduated from North Augusta High School. Sandra would go on to graduate from Augusta College, where she received her B.Ed., M.Ed., and Ed.S. degrees. She taught school at John S. Davidson Middle School, Ursula Collins Elementary, Glenn Hills Elementary, and Windsor Spring Elementary Schools. Sandra later worked as a Title 1 Math teacher and a Title 1 Coordinator. She retired from the Richmond County Board of Education with a combined 30 years of service. Outside of work, she was a devoted animal lover and enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, and watching television mysteries. Sandra will be remembered as a dedicated caretaker to her parents while in their senior years. She often quietly provided financial assistance to those in need-family, friends, friends of friends, and charities, especially charities that help children and animals.
Survivors include her two sisters, Jo Angela Edwins and Linda Bishop (Bob); nephew Brandon Mullis (Yavanna); niece Shanna Mullis Hood (Billy); great-nephews, Corey Gamache and Cameron Gamache; and her longtime caregiver and friend, LuAnn Davis.
