Sandra Flaxman Obituary

Sandra Mostow Flaxman 90, of Palm Beach Florida, formerly resided in West Hartford, CT. Sandra passed away peacefully January 25, 2023 at home with her much loved C.N.A. Pauline by her side. She joined her beloved husband of 64 years, Dr. Eugene R. Flaxman and their son Brian David Flaxman in heaven for eternity. She was the only child of Louis & Bertha Mostow. Sandra graduated from B.U. with a degree in Social work. She married Eugene in November 1955 and was a dedicated wife. In 1959, the Flaxman's adopted their 1st child, then they adopted two more children in 1962 and 1964.

Having a family was the most precious, meaningful gift in her life. Being a wife, mother and homemaker made her so happy. Her family was everything to her. Through life's ups and downs and unexpected tragedies that she endured only made her stronger. Sandra was the matriarch of our family. She found that family was the love, laughter and foundation to her happiness. She leaves many sister in laws, brother in laws and lifelong friends.

Her two daughters are Denise Wilbur and Sharon Flaxman Hughes. She watched her family grow to four grandsons Zachary Wilbur, Matthew Wilbur, Samuel Flaxman and Ross Flaxman. Was blessed with two great grandchildren Eric and Penelope Wilbur. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Jewish family Services.

The funeral service will be at Congregation Beth Israel 701 Farmington Ave, West Hartford Ct 06119, Monday January 30, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Followed by internment at Hartford Mutual Cemetery in East Granby, CT. Lunch will be served at Congregation Beth Israel from 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Returning for Shiva at 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. If you are unable to attend in person, you may attend the services on Zoom.
