Of Deposit, NY
Sandra Mae Gifford, 90, of Deposit, NY, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at UHS Wilson Hospital in Johnson City, NY.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 71 years Clayton J. Gifford; her parents James & Jennie Clift; daughter Betty Gifford; granddaughter Shauna Fiumera; and great grandson A.C. Tiffany.
Sandra is survived by her children, Bill & Carole Anne Gifford of Deposit, NY, Vicki & Doug Tiffany, of Deposit, NY, Dave Gifford of Deposit, NY, Jane & Pete Meneilly of Booneviile, NY, Joe & Karen Gifford, of Binghamton, NY; brother Dennis "Tuffy" Clift of Richford, NY; sisters-in-law Judy Robertson, Lake Lamoka, NY and Patsy Gifford, Groton, NY; 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Sandra was born on September 6, 1934, in Deposit, NY. She married her husband Clayton and soon after started her family. Sandra worked at various jobs including Bard Parker in Hancock, DCSI in Deposit, Kelsey Enterprises in Deposit, and Automation in Windsor. Sandra also wrote the "Looking Back" column for the Deposit Courier for over 30 years. She was charter member of Deposit Fire Departments Auxiliary. Sandra was truly a Deposit and family historian. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 1pm to 4pm at the Masonic Hall, 206 Front St. Deposit, NY.
A Private interment service will be held in the Hambletville Cemetery, Deposit, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Deposit Food Pantry, PO Box 215, Deposit, NY 13754.
