Sandra Carleen Griffin

Sandra Carleen Moore Griffin, 71, of Sylvania, GA, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro.

Sandra was born on September 1, 1954 in Sylvania, GA to Thomas Moore and Jewel Oglesby Moore. She was a lifelong native of Screven County and graduated from Screven County High School. Mrs. Sandra was a member of the Goloid Methodist Church. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Sandra enjoyed spending time with her dogs, reading, riding on the golf cart, and camping and fishing with her husband. Above all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Sandra was a homemaker always making sure her family was well taken care of.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Daniel Carrington.

She is survived by her loving husband, Al Griffin, a daughter, Tina (Jody) Johnson, a step-son, Chris (Holly) Griffin, grandchildren, Jett Johnson, Cara Johnson, Dylan Griffin, Dalton Griffin, and Dawson Griffin, as well as a great-grandchild, Brooks Griffin.

Pall bearers will be Jett Johnson, Dylan Griffin, Dalton Griffin, Dawson Griffin, Baldie Zipperer, and Randy Forehand.

Honorary Pallbearers are Brigham Sanders and Charles Davis.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Thompson Strickland Waters, Joiner Anderson Chapel.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Hurst Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jay Williams officiating.

Thompson Strickland Waters, Joiner Anderson Chapel is in charge of all arrangements.
