Sandra "Sandy" Guthorn

"Sandy" Sandra Guthorn (nee Minch), of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at the age of 70. She is survived by her beloved and loving husband, Lester B. Guthorn; her devoted and supportive children, Megan (Joshua) Schermer, Harrison (Meghan Ryan) Guthorn, and Benjamin Guthorn; her dear brother, Dr. Robert (Julie) Minch; her cherished grandchildren, Alexa Schermer, Zachary Schermer, and Rose Guthorn; her favorite cousin, Harry Legum; and many loyal and longtime friends. She was predeceased by her parents, June and Stanley Minch; and her sister, Dr. Sally Kane.

Sandy protected and cherished her family. She provided her family with strong Jewish values that were reflected in her generosity of heart and keen intellect. A force of nature in advocating for her beliefs and those she cared for, she lived with intention and intensity, Sandy earned the respect of her peers, family, friends, and her community through her tenacity and compassion.

For thirty years Sandy was an expert in the field of energy law, negotiating and litigating to ensure that the voice of the consumer was heard and respected. In all things Sandy took the role of protector and advocate. She was and remains a blessing to all who know and love her.

Services at Sol Levinson's Chapel, 8900 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, MD 21208, on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 12:00 pm. Interment Garrison Forest Cemetery of Chizuk Amuno Congregation. Please omit flowers. Contributions in her memory may be sent to HIAS and House of Ruth Maryland. The family will be in mourning at 2302 Velvet Valley Way, Owings Mills, MD 21117. The family will be receiving guests Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 1 pm to 4 pm and 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm with services each night at 7 pm.
