Sandra Hanks Hahn

Sandra Hanks Hahn, age 90 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026.  She was born in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky on June 21, 1935 to the late Robert Harold and Mary Louise (Mitchell) Hanks.  She graduated as President and Valedictorian of her class from Anderson County High School in 1953.  She played saxophone in the band and she was President of the Future Homemakers of America.  She attended Eastern Kentucky State College (EKU) and graduated with high distinction in 1957 with a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in commerce.  Sandy was a member of Sigma Tau Pi and the Baptist Student Union.  She married the love of her life, Jimmy W. Hahn at Sand Spring Baptist Church in 1957.

In addition to her parents, Sandy is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy W. Hahn; and her daughter, Mary Sue Hahn.

Sandy is survived by her loving son, Benjamin M. Hahn (Sheri); grandson, Jordan; brother, Dudley Hanks (Betty); and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 10:30am to 12:30pm on Monday, March 9, 2026 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243, with a celebration of Sandy's life there at 12:30pm.  Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to Hosparus Health of Louisville or the Lyndon Baptist Church in Sandy's honor.
