Sandra ("Boots") Hamman, longtime resident of Lancaster, California, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at the age of 82. She was born in Greenville, South Carolina, on September 7, 1942, to Rena Grayson LeBlanc and Jesse C. LeBlanc.
Sandra graduated as valedictorian from St. Johns High School in Franklin, Louisiana. There she met her lifelong friend, Evelyn Clausen. Sandra moved to California as a young adult.
She worked at Edwards Air Force Base as an Administrative Assistant, where she met Vic Hamman. They married in May 1990.
Sandra enjoyed traveling to national parks and visiting family. She also adored her pets, whom she called "her babies."
Sandra leaves behind her husband of 34 years, Vic Hamman; her daughter, Danna (Jim) Kittlitz; and four sons, Jack (Victoria) Borne; Jesse (Lori) Borne; Joshua Borne; and Jerome (Veronica) Borne. Sandra is also survived by 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Sandra is preceded in death by her parents, Rena and Jesse LeBlanc, and Jerry Borne.
Visitation hours are Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 2:00-6:00 PM at Halley Olsen Murphy Funeral Chapel in Lancaster, California. A funeral mass for Sandra Hamman will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, April 16, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lancaster, California. Internment will be held at Good Shepherd Cemetery in Lancaster, CA, at 1:30pm.
