Sandra Mae Henry, a deeply cherished soul, departed our earthly bounds on January 24, 2026, in
Paris, Kentucky, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and educational devotion. Born on January 18, 1939, in the close-knit community of
Jamesburg, New Jersey, Sandra's sparkle and passion for life were apparent from her early years.
Sandra led a life dedicated to nurturing both family and the countless young minds she encountered throughout her career as a devoted teacher. She completed her associates degree in teaching, a testament to her commitment to education and her fervent belief in the power of knowledge. Her career spanned several decades, during which she not only taught but also inspired her students to be curious, compassionate, and considerate citizens of the world.
A true matriarch, Sandra's devotion to her family was unwavering. She left behind a tapestry of cherished memories for her daughter, Joy (Mark) Conley, her loving brother, Robert Reid, and her two adoring grandchildren, London and Brant Conley. As she joins her predeceased husband, Howard Henry, and her parents, Clemeth Reid and Willa Reid, those who knew her find solace in the knowledge that her light continues to shine through her family and the innumerable lives she touched.
An epitome of the community spirit, Sandra served with distinction as a deacon at First Presbyterian Church, where she was known for her wisdom, grace, and unwavering faith. Her infectious laugh and captivating storytelling drew people to her, making her a beloved figure in both religious and social circles.
Sandra's zest for life extended beyond her vocational and familial roles. She was known for her love of the theatre, the refreshing breezes at Point Pleasant beach in New Jersey, and the vibrant energy of New York City. Each of these places held a special place in her heart, as they were often backdrops to the memorable times spent with her loved ones.
Those fortunate to have known Sandra are encouraged to celebrate her enduring influence by embracing their own passions with the same fervor Sandra displayed. As she believed, life should be lived to the fullest, enriched with love, embraced in community, and always pursued with a joyful heart.
