Sandra Helen Kovach

Sandra Helen Kovach, age 81, of Shawano, passed away on Thursday March 26, 2026, in Shawano. Sandra was born on September 18, 1944, in Shawano to the late Louis and Florence (Richter) Boettcher. She was united in marriage to Michael Kovach who preceded her in death on August 21, 2016. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Embarrass. Sandra worked at Retail Lumber for several years prior to moving to West Allis. She then returned to the Shawano area where she worked for Clintonville Elevator. Sandra loved sewing, cross stitching, baking, cooking, and doing crossword puzzles. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.

Sandra is survived by her children, Wanda (Joel) Nischke and Lance (Vicki) Olson; stepchildren, Arron (Dawn) Kovach and Tracy Kovach; grandchildren, Zachary Nischke, Nicole Nischke, goddaughter, Tyler Nischke, Riley Nischke, Alexandra Brandt, and Remington (Julia) Brandt; sister, Lois Weisnicht. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Sandra is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Kovach; parents; brother, Louis Boettcher; and sisters, Mary Jean Tolzman and Marceline in infancy.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday April 2, 2026, at Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel with Pastor Mark Palmer officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home starting at 9:30 am until the time of service. Entombment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery.
