Sandra Luce Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Maple Crest Funeral Home Inc on Aug. 31, 2023.
Sandra Lee Luce, beloved wife and mother, passed away on August 29, 2023. Sandy was born on October 2, 1957. She was a caring and compassionate woman who always spoke up for the underdog and showed love to those who needed it the most.
On October 10, 1981, Sandy married the love of her life, Scott, and together they shared 42 years of adventures, building their family and watching it grow.
Sandy was a woman of many talents and she reveled in out fishing Scott, bowling in a league when she was younger, hitting the road for shopping trips with friends and family, and a good game of scrabble. Sandy worked caring for others, babysitting, and as a Special Education Aid for many years.
Sandy's heart grew when she welcomed her son Joshua, becoming not only his doting mother but also his number one cheerleader throughout his life. Sandy adored spending time with her son and learned about classic cars, tools, and was a boy scout den leader.
Josh blessed Sandy with her grandson Jesse and Sandy instantly connected with her "Buddy Boy'. She cherished every moment spent playing Legos, learning about Hot Wheels and dinosaurs, and sharing precious snuggles with her grandson Jesse.
Sandy's family expanded with the birth of her daughter Rebecca. She effortlessly transitioned from playing with Hot Wheels to curling hair and applying makeup, always supporting Rebecca's passion for music. Sandy attended every musical and band concert, and she was always up for a road trip, even if it meant traveling over 3,500 miles through the Canadian Yukon.
Becoming a grandmother brought immense joy to Sandy's life when Rebecca had her daughter Rayna. From the moment Sandy held Rayna they were inseparable and Sandy always made time for long talks and as many huggies and moochies as she could get.Together, they enjoyed making slime and playing Peter Pan, with Sandy always taking on the role of Smee, the bumbling crook in stripes.
Sandy and Scott's love extended beyond their immediate family. They embraced and accepted their foster grandchildren, making them feel loved, valued, and worthy. Sandy's kindness and warmth touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her father: Ken Barbian, her sisters: Carol (Jeff) Falk, Susan (Larry) Loomis, Mary (Nic) Gotchy, her brother: Steven (Kelly) Barbian, and all of her nieces, nephews, and extended loved ones.
Sandy faced immeasurable pain and suffering throughout her life, yet she never complained. Despite her struggles, she remained a source of joy in the lives of others. Although she left us too soon, we find solace in knowing that she is no longer burdened by pain. Sandy's spirit is now free, reunited with her mother Shirley Barbian on the other side.
Services honoring Sandy's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2023 at Maple Crest Funeral Home, N2620 Hwy 22, Waupaca. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. until the time of the service. After the services are completed, a Celebration of Life will take place at the South Park north shelter in Waupaca.
May Sandy's memory live on in our hearts, and may we find comfort in the love and cherished moments she shared with us.
