Sandra K Lyons

 

Sandra K. Lyons, 86 of Monticello passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023 at St. Anthony Healthcare in Lafayette surrounded by her loving family.
  She was born May 19, 1937 at the family home in Carroll County Indiana.  She was the daughter of the late Uhl and Kathryn “Kate” Elizabeth (McCully) Timmons.  On November 5, 1960, she married Larry J. Lyons at the Monticello United Methodist Church.  He preceded her in death March 14, 2020.
  She graduated from the Indiana School for the Deaf in Indianapolis where she met the love of her life, Larry. Prior to her marriage, she worked for the State of Indiana as a key punch operator.  Once she married, she enjoyed her family and being a homemaker.  She and her late husband, Larry raised their children in Kokomo and moved to Monticello in 1983.  She supported her husband in a social capacity, while he served as president of the board of the Archibald Memorial Home for the Deaf in the 1970’s.
  She enjoyed scrap booking, flower gardening, and reading and studying the Bible.  She also enjoyed water sports, especially swimming and skiing.  Christmas was her favorite holiday.  Above all, she cherished her family and was a faithful servant of Christ.
  Surviving are her sons, Kent (Diane) Lyons of Troy, OH and Bruce (Beth) Lyons of Monticello; her grandchildren, Ian, Nick, and Amy Lyons; and her sister, Kathy Boschen of West Lafayette.
  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Larry, and her twelve-year-old son, Walter G. Lyons.
  Visitation will be at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home from 11am until the time of funeral services celebrating Sandra’s life at 1pm on Thursday, December 28, 2023.  Rev. Brian Beeks from the Monticello United Methodist Church will officiate services.
  Burial will follow services in Sunset Memory Gardens in Kokomo.
