Sandra Gail Mayes, age 56, passed away Monday, February 13, 2023, in Wichita Falls. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
Sandra was born on January 31, 1967, in Alexandria, Louisiana to Kenneth Earl Free and Peggy (Clayton) Free. She graduated from Jacksboro High School. She married Bobby Mayes on June 2, 1996 and moved to Olney that same year. Sandra enjoyed cooking, working crossword puzzles, collecting frogs and was always dying her hair different colors. She was willing to help anyone in need. Sandra enjoyed spending time with her family and was especially proud of her new grandbaby.
Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Earl Free; a step-son, Gage Firestone; a sister, Tina Free; and a brother, Chris Free.
Sandra is survived by her mother, Peggy Clayton of Archer City; her husband, Bobby Mayes of Olney; two daughters: Sierra Mayes of Olney and Stormy Cornell of Archer City; two sons: Taylor Mayes and Brant Clayton both of Olney; three step-children: Robert Michael Austin of Springfield, Missouri, Raven Firestone of Elbert and Haliegh Buendia of Corpus Christi; two sisters: Crystal Moore of Princeton and Kimbra Childers of Gordon; one brother, Tony Clayton of Olney; mother-in-law, Louise Mayes of Olney; sister-in-law, Addie Nunley of Olney; son-in-law, Quentin Jackson of Olney; thirteen grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
