Sandra McKay Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 8, 2025.
Sandra A. McKay-also fondly known as "Sandi", passed away November 5, 2025 at the Concord Hospital in Concord, NH. She was born December 24, 1944 in Rochester, NH, daughter of the late Harold Burleigh and Mildred Doyon.
Sandi grew up in Rochester. She was blessed to have four sons, James, Daniel, Matthew and Mark from her previous marriage and they meant everything to her. Professionally, Sandi dedicated herself to nursing care as an aide at the Exeter Healthcare for many years from which she retired from. It was 30+ years ago that she met while roller skating in Newington, James Brassil who was the longtime love of her life. They enjoyed many vacations together traveling to Hawaii. They had an oceanside retreat on Revere Beach where they were able to enjoy the breathtaking views of the ocean. They also travelled many times to Cape Cod to different locations every time. Sandi was extremely adventurous and proved that when at the age of 60 years old, she hand glided off a mountain top. Sandi also cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren spending time with them doing crafting and always personally made handmade cards for them on holidays and special occasions. She was talented in knitting and crocheting. Sandi was that family member with her camera taking pictures to preserve those family moments.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter Tammy Lee McKay, brothers Gary and Butch
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Kara McKay, son, Daniel "DJ" McKay Jr., son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Vicky McKay, son and his longtime companion, Mark McKay and Stephanie Downing, 15 grandchildren, 9, great-grandchildren, sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Joe, sister and brother-in-law, Michelle and Mark, brother, Michael, brother, Teddy, and several generations of nieces and nephews and cousins.
